FOURTH SUSPECT ARRESTED IN 2025 GOLDEN ROCK SHOOTING THAT LEFT TWO MEN WOUNDED

VIPD investigation leads to another arrest nearly one year after Thanksgiving night gunfire; multiple defendants have now been charged in connection with the St. Croix incident.
ST. CROIX, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS — Nearly one year after a late-night shooting left two men wounded near the Golden Rock traffic light along Northside Road, the Virgin Islands Police Department has announced another arrest in connection with the case.
Authorities have identified 21-year-old Mark Prince as the latest suspect arrested in the investigation into the November 27, 2025 shooting, an incident that prompted a major police response and left two individuals suffering gunshot wounds.
According to VIPD, the shooting occurred at approximately 11:40 p.m. when the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of gunfire near the Golden Rock traffic light.
Officers assigned to the VIPD Patrol Unit and Special Operations Bureau responded to the scene, where they discovered multiple spent shell casings and two individuals who had sustained injuries during the incident.
Both victims were transported to Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment. Initial reports indicated that one victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the second was in critical but stable condition and was being prepared for an airlift because of the severity of his injuries.
At the time, police had not publicly provided a detailed explanation of what led to the shooting or identified the individuals responsible.
Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests
Following an investigation conducted by detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau, authorities identified several individuals as suspects in connection with the shooting.
According to previous VIPD announcements, Jamil Saker, 27, and Niquan Joseph, 20, were arrested on October 5, 2026. Both were charged with first-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.
Authorities subsequently announced the return of 34-year-old Dumaray Iles from Delaware on October 21, 2026. Iles waived extradition and was transported to St. Croix to face charges in connection with the same shooting.
His charges included first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, mayhem and firearms-related offenses.
The latest arrest involves Mark Prince, 21, whose arrest warrant was signed by a Superior Court judge on November 5, 2026.
Prince was detained later that day at Henry E. Rohlsen Airport and transported to the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station, where he was advised of his Miranda Rights.
He faces multiple charges, including:
First-degree assault. First-degree reckless endangerment. Mayhem. Carrying or using a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence,Carrying a firearm openly or concealed with intent to commit a crime of violence, Carrying or using a dangerous weapon, Possession or sale of ammunition.
Bail was set at $100,000. Prince was unable to post bail and was remanded to the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
Earlier Court Case Raises Additional Questions
-------------------
A review of publicly available Superior Court records also uncovered a July 21, 2025 court opinion in People of the Virgin Islands v. Mark Emmanuel Prince, case number SX-2024-CR-00332.
The case involved a March 10, 2024 traffic stop near Purple Papaya in Christiansted.
According to the court opinion, Mark Emmanuel Prince was driving a silver Honda Civic with two other occupants, identified as Jacob A. Turnbull and Thymothy Rodriguez.
Police discovered two loaded firearms inside the vehicle. The occupants challenged the legality of the search.
The Superior Court granted motions to suppress the evidence seized during the warrantless vehicle search, finding that the search was not supported by probable cause.
However, the court record does not establish whether the Mark Emmanuel Prince named in that proceeding is the same individual arrested in November 2026.
Nor does the ruling establish a criminal conviction. Further verification of the identity and final disposition of the earlier case is necessary before drawing conclusions about the latest defendant's criminal history.
Questions Remain About What Happened That Night
----------------------
With multiple individuals now arrested in connection with the November 2025 shooting, important questions remain unanswered.
Authorities have not publicly provided a comprehensive account of what triggered the gunfire, the alleged roles of each defendant, or whether investigators believe additional individuals were involved.
The condition and identities of the two shooting victims also remain important details in understanding the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The multiple arrests demonstrate that the investigation has continued well beyond the night of the shooting. However, the specific evidence connecting each defendant to the incident will ultimately be addressed through the court proceedings.
